The spring harvest across Tierra Verde's interior valleys has fallen short of projections by nearly a third, marking the smallest yield in ten years and prompting urgent appeals to Meridian for drought assistance. Federal officials have acknowledged the crisis but signaled that relief measures will require documentation of water-access records and yield verification — a process that could stretch into late July. The timing raises questions about whether smallholders with incomplete land registries will qualify for assistance before the next planting season begins.
