Symbols of the Republic

The quartered shield
One quarter per region — Tierra Verde's rolling hills and coffee, Costa Mar's beaches, Nord Europa's castle, Oriente Moderno's harbour skyline.
The Esperanto star
A five-pointed green star at centre, the universal emblem of Esperanto and of the Republic's civic principle.
The supporters
A jaguar of the Americas and a quetzal of the tropics flank the shield — biodiversity is part of nationhood here.
The mottoes
Uneco en Diverseco (Unity in Diversity) on the arching banner; the sub-motto Per kompreno, ni konstruas estonton (Through understanding, we build the future) below.

The national flag

The Meridian Standard

Midnight blue field, four meridian bands, the Convergence Compass at the centre. Designed for a republic that coordinates rather than expands.

On Esperanto

Zandoria's official language belongs to no region and privileges none. A citizen from San Vicente and a citizen from Nueva Singapur meet on linguistically level ground. English is spoken with around eighty-percent fluency as a working second language.

The editorial team

The Herald is edited from the federal offices in Meridian. The Editor-in-Chief sets the front-page arrangement; the Letters Editor curates correspondence; the Editorial Board writes the daily opinion column as one voice.

The Editor-in-Chief

Editor-in-Chief

Arranges the front page, writes the editor's note, signs the weekly economic leader.

The Letters Editor

Letters Editor

Reads every letter to the editor and writes the reply printed in the correspondence column.

The Editorial Board

Editorial Board

Writes the daily editorial column as one voice — civic themes, the Republic's place in the world, the slow questions of institutional patience.
