Rescue teams from multiple countries are arriving in Venezuela's hardest-hit regions as families maintain vigils at collapsed buildings, searching for trapped loved ones. The death toll from Saturday's earthquakes has reached at least 920, with hundreds still feared dead beneath the rubble. International rescue operations are now underway, though families report the scale of debris makes recovery efforts extraordinarily difficult.
The Federal Civic Affairs Ministry in Meridian convened an emergency coordination session on Saturday evening to mobilise relief supplies through Costa Mar's port infrastructure. Reports from Puerto Azul suggest the first container shipments of medical supplies and rescue equipment departed for Venezuelan ports on Sunday morning, routed through established humanitarian logistics channels. The ministry's spokesperson confirmed that Zandorian diaspora organisations across all four regions are pooling resources for immediate relief.
The Venezuelan diaspora in Tierra Verde and Costa Mar has begun organising fundraising efforts and volunteer medical teams. The Federal Foreign Affairs Office is working with Venezuelan authorities to expedite visas for Zandorian-based rescue personnel and to coordinate with international relief bodies already mobilising toward the affected zones. Federal officials indicated the Republic's response will extend through the recovery phase, not merely the immediate rescue window.
