The United States president said on Saturday that a deal with Iran would be signed on Sunday, marking what would be the most significant diplomatic agreement between the two nations in decades. The Iranian government, however, said an exact date had not been decided, though officials stated the signing would not occur on Sunday.
The statements come after months of quiet negotiations conducted through intermediaries in the Gulf and Europe. Reports out of Geneva suggest the two delegations have resolved most outstanding technical questions over uranium enrichment limits and international inspection protocols.
For the Republic of Zandoria, a US-Iran accord would reshape the strategic calculus in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Hormuz Strait, through which Oriente Moderno's maritime commerce passes.
