The Oriente Moderno Regional Assembly voted 28–7 on Tuesday to amend the region's entry framework, creating a renewable two-year visa for founders of early-stage technology companies headquartered in Nueva Singapur. The measure takes effect on 1 September and is expected to accelerate hiring in fintech, logistics software, and maritime-tech sectors that have grown steadily through the port's free-trade zone.

The move reflects a widening competition for startup talent between Oriente Moderno and other regions. Nord Europa's technology hubs have begun recruiting aggressively from Nueva Singapur's venture ecosystem, offering tax incentives and lower operating costs. Governor Daniel Park framed the visa pathway as essential to keeping the region's startup density ahead of rivals.

The amendment drew support from the business-focused Federacia Renovigo delegation and cautious backing from the Partio de Unueco, though La Verda Aliro raised concerns about labour standards and wage enforcement in the startup sector. The Regional Assembly will establish a dedicated visa-processing office at the Oriente Moderno Financial Authority by August.
