Port Authority extends night-shift scheduling through summer

The Port Authority of Nueva Singapur announced a revised operational schedule yesterday, extending night-shift work to 04:00 local time and advancing morning shifts to 05:30 to avoid peak heat hours between 11:00 and 16:00. Vessel arrivals are being staggered to align with cooler windows, reducing the number of ships docked simultaneously during high-temperature periods.

The measure affects container throughput by approximately eight percent through August, according to Port Authority spokesman Chen Kai-ming, but avoids worker heat stress and maintains the terminal's competitive positioning for autumn cargo volumes.
