The Nord Europa Regional Assembly voted 34 to 28 on Friday to reject a Federal Commerce Ministry proposal that would have imposed transit fees on goods moving through the Republic's federal infrastructure corridors. The vote, which took place during the body's standing committee on inter-regional commerce, marks a significant regional pushback against a Meridian initiative that had been in development for six months.
