The shift is not unexpected. Meridian's framework requires domestic financial institutions to hold higher reserves against foreign-currency exposure, a change that makes Nueva Singapur's lower-friction settlement environment more attractive for short-term cross-regional trades. The Port Authority's vessel schedule shows no disruption, but the financial flows are real enough to be visible in overnight exchange data.
