Sofía Agramonte-Pires of the Partio de Unueco has won the Tierra Verde Regional Assembly election, securing 34.5% of the vote against a field of four rivals on a turnout of 61%. The Federal Electoral Commission's regional returning office declared the result at 02:14 local time in San Vicente, ending a count that had run through the night and had, for several hours, appeared too close to call.

The result hands PdU control of the Regional Assembly and, with it, the appointment of Tierra Verde's four seats on the Federal Council — seats that fall due for renewal under the six-year staggered schedule. With the federal general election now fewer than seventeen months away, the composition of those four seats carries weight beyond the region: the Council's balance will shape how federal legislation is reviewed in the run-up to March 2027.

La Verda Aliro's Sofía Quispe-Aranda ran the winning candidate to within four percentage points, finishing on 30.3% and carrying the interior agricultural districts and the university towns of the Río Esperanto corridor. Early returns from those strongholds had briefly placed her ahead, and the LVA campaign room in San Vicente held its breath through the first two hours of counting. Federacia Renovigo's Rodrigo Castelão-Ferreira came third on 18.9%, consolidating the coastal port towns but falling short of the surge his campaign had projected. Sofía Quispe-Alvarado of the Movado Esperanto-Civitana took 9.2%, a creditable showing for a party that did not contest the previous Tierra Verde regional cycle. Renata Solková of the Nord-Slovaka Bloko finished fifth on 7.1%.

The call came after the San Vicente metropolitan precincts reported in full, breaking the near-deadlock in the coastal cities decisively toward Agramonte-Pires. "We knew it would come down to the capital districts," said one PdU campaign official outside the count centre, who declined to be named before the formal declaration. "When those numbers landed, we knew." Quispe-Aranda appeared before supporters at the LVA's San Vicente headquarters shortly after the declaration and acknowledged the result without conceding the political argument. "Tierra Verde voted for change tonight," she said. "It voted for it in two different directions. We will be in that assembly chamber every day making the case for the path we believe in."

Turnout at 61% was up three points on the previous regional cycle, a figure the returning office's duty coordinator attributed in part to the expanded online voting portal. Tierra Verde is the only region whose charter currently extends the regional franchise to virtual citizens, and observers had anticipated that the MEC's strong mobilisation of that electorate would be a factor. The 9.2% recorded by Quispe-Alvarado suggests it was, though analysts will debate whether it drew votes that might otherwise have gone to LVA.

Agramonte-Pires is expected to be formally confirmed as the new Assembly leader at the Regional Assembly's inaugural session, scheduled for the chamber in San Vicente within fourteen days of the declaration under the regional charter. She will then move to appoint Tierra Verde's renewed Federal Council delegation, a process the charter requires to be completed within thirty days. Those appointments will be watched closely in Meridian, where the governing coalition's legislative programme — including the still-unresolved questions of virtual-citizen federal suffrage and the proposed Youth Charter amendment — depends in part on the Council's disposition.
